Overview

Korean ("we", "our", or "us") is a Korean language learning application provided by Genkoritei. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application, create or use a Korean account, synchronize your learning data, or otherwise interact with our related services.

By using Korean, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Where applicable law requires your consent for a particular type of processing, such as personalized advertising or tracking, we will ask for that consent separately.

Summary: Korean collects only the information reasonably necessary to provide account functionality, synchronize learning progress, personalize your learning experience, maintain security, improve the app, provide support, and display advertising. We do not sell your personal information.

02

Information We Collect

We collect information in three main ways: information you provide to us, information generated through your use of Korean, and information collected automatically by the app or our service providers.

2.1 Account and Registration Information

When you create or use a Korean account, we may collect and process:

If password-based login is available, passwords are not stored by us in readable plain text. Authentication credentials are protected using security mechanisms designed for account authentication.

2.2 Third-Party Sign-In

Korean may allow you to create an account or sign in using a supported third-party authentication provider. When you choose a third-party sign-in method, we may receive information that the provider makes available to us and that you authorize the provider to share, such as a provider-specific user identifier, your email address, and, where available, basic profile information.

We do not receive your password for the third-party service. Information processed directly by the third-party authentication provider is also subject to that provider's own privacy policy and terms.

2.3 Learning and App Data

When you use Korean, we may store information related to your learning activity so that features can function across sessions and, when you are signed in, across supported devices. This information may include:

Some learning information may be stored locally on your device. If you are signed in and synchronization is enabled or supported, relevant information may also be stored on our servers so that it can be synchronized or restored.

2.4 Support Communications

If you contact us for support, we may collect your email address, information contained in your message, technical information you provide, and other information necessary to investigate and respond to your request.

2.5 Information Collected Automatically

2.6 Information We Do NOT Collect

03

How We Use Your Information

Legal Bases for Processing

Where applicable law requires us to identify a legal basis for processing personal information, we rely on one or more of the following: providing the services you request, our legitimate interests in operating and securing Korean, your consent where required, and compliance with applicable legal obligations.

Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time, subject to applicable law.

04

Analytics — Firebase

Korean uses Google Analytics for Firebase and services provided by Google, to understand app usage, diagnose technical problems, and improve reliability and user experience.

Data Processed by Firebase

Depending on your device and configuration, Firebase may process:

We do not intentionally send your password or the contents of private support communications to Firebase Analytics. Analytics information may be associated with pseudonymous identifiers used to distinguish app installations or sessions.

Firebase's Privacy Practices

Firebase processes information in accordance with Google's privacy and data protection practices. You can review Google's privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy and learn more about Firebase privacy and security at: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.

05

Advertising — AdMob

Korean uses Google AdMob, an advertising service provided by Google, to display advertisements within the app. Advertising revenue helps support the operation and development of Korean.

Data Processed by AdMob

Depending on your device, region, settings, and consent choices, AdMob may process:

App Tracking Transparency (iOS)

Where required by Apple, Korean will request permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before accessing information or engaging in tracking that requires ATT authorization. If you deny tracking permission, features that require such permission will not use your IDFA for cross-app tracking. You may change ATT permissions through your iOS privacy settings.

Personalized and Non-Personalized Advertising

In countries or regions where consent is required for personalized advertising, we or Google may present a consent interface before personalized advertising is enabled. You may be able to change your advertising consent choices through the app or your device privacy settings, depending on your platform and region.

Choosing non-personalized advertising does not necessarily remove advertisements from Korean. It changes how advertising may be selected or personalized.

AdMob's Privacy Practices

Google processes advertising information according to its own privacy policies and applicable consent requirements. For more information, please review:

06

Third-Party Content

Korean incorporates vocabulary and dictionary data from the following third-party source:

Korean Basic Dictionary (한국어기초사전 · krdict)

Vocabulary and dictionary data used in Korean may include materials provided by the Korean Basic Dictionary (krdict), operated by the National Institute of Korean Language (국립국어원), Republic of Korea. Unless otherwise specifically indicated by the provider, materials from the website are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 2.0 Korea license (CC BY-SA 2.0 KR).

Covered materials may be used, including for commercial purposes, subject to applicable attribution and share-alike requirements. Multimedia materials such as images, video, music, sound, or pronunciation recordings may have separate usage conditions and are subject to the individual license applicable to each item.

We do not claim ownership of material owned by the National Institute of Korean Language or other third parties. Third-party materials remain subject to the rights, licenses, and conditions of their respective providers.

07

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may disclose or make limited information available to the following categories of service providers or recipients where reasonably necessary:

International Data Processing

Some of our service providers operate infrastructure in multiple countries. As a result, information may be processed or stored outside the country or region where you live. Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal information, we take appropriate measures or rely on appropriate safeguards provided by our service providers.

08

Data Retention & Account Deletion

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including providing the service, maintaining security, resolving disputes, and complying with applicable legal obligations.

Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your Korean account using the account deletion function provided within the app or by contacting us.

When you delete your account, account information and associated server-side learning data will be deleted or anonymized in accordance with applicable law, except for information that we are required or permitted to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, or other legitimate purposes.

Deleted information may remain temporarily in encrypted backups or disaster-recovery systems until those backups are overwritten according to the applicable backup retention cycle.

Some information stored locally on your device may remain after account deletion until you clear the app's local storage or uninstall the app.

Important: Uninstalling Korean does not by itself delete your Korean account or server-side account data. Similarly, disconnecting a third-party sign-in provider does not necessarily delete your Korean account. To delete the Korean account itself, use the account deletion function in the app or contact us.

09

Your Choices & Privacy Rights

Depending on the laws applicable to you, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

You may also control certain privacy choices through your device settings, including advertising permissions, tracking permissions, notifications, and permissions for hardware or media access.

To exercise a privacy right that is not available directly within the app, please contact us at contact@3734649.xyz. We may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests in order to protect your account and personal information.

10

Children's Privacy

Korean is a general-audience language learning application and is not specifically directed to young children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in a manner prohibited by applicable law.

If the law in a user's country or region requires parental or guardian consent before a minor may create an account or provide personal information, the user should use Korean only with the required consent.

If you are a parent or legal guardian and believe that a child has provided personal information to us in violation of applicable law, please contact us. We will review the request and take appropriate action.

Where required by Google's policies or applicable law, advertising shown to children is configured without interest-based personalization.

11

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss, or destruction.

No method of electronic transmission, network communication, or data storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. Although we take reasonable steps to protect your information, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

12

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in Korean, account functionality, technology, service providers, legal requirements, or our privacy practices.

When we update this policy, we may:

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
